Meagan Earl:
Human Resources Team Lead, Student Office, Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada

Meagan is the Team Lead for the Student Office for Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. She obtained her B.A. in Law with a concentration in Law, Policy and Government from Carleton University. She was born and raised in the National Capital Region. She was initially hired at Health Canada as a student under the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) and was able to continue her career at Health Canada once she graduated. She worked in Staffing Operations for several years as a Human Resources Advisor, and recently joined the Student Office as a Team Lead.

Dr. Rebecca Laposa:
Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Dr. Rebecca Laposa (she/her) is a teaching faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. She is the Departmental lead for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigeneity and Accessibility (EDIIA) and serves on the Diversity Advisory Council of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. She earned her PhD from the University of Toronto and conducted postdoctoral training at the University of California San Francisco’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre. She teaches industry-partnered graduate courses in drug development and is a member of PRiME, the Precision Medicine Institute of the University of Toronto. She is enthusiastic about empowering all graduate students in their professional development. She aims to help future-proof graduate students, and led the University of Toronto’s first Futures Thinking training for graduate students in the fall of 2022.

Dr. Anne Meyer-Miner:
Scientific Recruiter, STEMCELL Technologies Anne is a Scientific Recruiter at STEMCELL Technologies.

Originally from New Mexico, Anne recently graduated with her PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto in 2021. She worked in a developmental biology lab at the Hospital for Sickkids using zebrafish to study scoliosis. During her graduate degree, she was an executive lead for the Life Sciences Career Development Society and currently is an active member of the Graduate Career Consortium. This extracurricular work began her interest in developing employer partnerships and helping scientists find meaningful jobs in industry. As a Scientific Recruiter specializing in Research & Development, Anne gets to combine her scientific background with her graduate career development interests while matching talented people with meaningful roles at STEMCELL.

Andreea Norman:
Director, Workforce Development, Health to Business Bridge, Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization

Andreea is the Director of Workforce Development, Health to Business Bridge program, at Ontario Bioscience Innovation Organization (OBIO®), a membership based organization engaged in strategy, programming, policy development and advocacy to further the commercialization of Ontario’s human health science companies. Prior to joining OBIO®, she worked in product development in regenerative medicine, looking to test and scale potential stem cell therapies toward the clinic. Andreea received her BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology and MSc in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto and worked in academia for several years before transitioning to R&D, and then later, to business roles in industry. She is currently working toward her PMP certification.
